Feature Artist(s) - Bobby Rush

While living legend Bobby Rush is no stranger to fans of Beale Street Caravan, to accurately describe Mr. Bobby Rush and his music is practically impossible. One must witness his abundant talent firsthand to fully appreciate it. Audience members cannot help but get caught up in his high-energy show. Last summer, BSC had the pleasure of catching a few of his performances. The one we will feature this week comes from the 2008 Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival in Helena, AR.

There are roots rockers, and then there's Webb Wilder. For over 20 years, Wilder has mined rock 'n' roll's most hallowed ground, but unlike so many others, he has approached it all with a rare irreverence and wit. His self-effacing persona-a tongue-in-cheek 1950's noir character, equal parts high school principal, tent preacher, and private detective-gives Wilder's music a sense of fun and imagination often lacking among his peers. We caught up with Webb at the 2008 Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival in Helena, AR.

Feature Host,Cybill Shepherd, tells us more about Women and the Blues.
