Alexis P. Suter is a rising star on the roots, blues and soul scene. Her powerful bass/baritone voice, seasoned with raw emotion and a wide streak of attitude, has won the praise of greats from B.B. King to Levon Helm. "She is one of those wonderful spirits,” said Helm. “She's got her arms around you. You can feel that." A true vocal phenomenon, Suter has been astounding audiences up and down the east coast for the past few years, backed by her tight, soul-rocking ensemble. Beale Street Caravan is proud to bring tou this one-of-a-kind talent live from Davenport, Iowa, at the 2008 Mississippi River Valley Blues Fest.

Also this week, we're happy to bring back the one-and-only DiAnne Price. DiAnne is one of Memphis' best kept secrets. Checkout her sultry take on the blues and jazz in a set from Colonial Middle School as BSC partners up with Arts Memphis for a Music In The Schools project.

Guest Host, Bob Porter, tells us more about the sidemen of early blues and r&b in his series, Something on The Side.
